“When I was 12 my parents started the modern Australian whisky revolution. To me, at the time, it was just one of those weird things my parents did (they did lots of different things!) My bedroom always smelt amazing when the still was on, and for many years I would have to scoot around the 500lt still just to get into my bedroom. My friends all thought it was crazy, but to me it was normal; don’t all parents put stills outside their kids bedrooms?!
I remember many times sitting around the kitchen table labelling bottles to take to the various food and drink fairs like the Deloraine Craft Festival and being able to smell — but not taste — the wonderful products my parents made. I certainly have a lot of fond memories of growing up with a distillery at our house and these experiences would lead me to become involved in the family business for over 17 years.”
