What is the Welcome to LARK Tasting?
It’s a 45 minute guided whisky tasting that takes you through the LARK story — from the fishing trip that sparked modern Tasmanian whisky to today’s innovative single malt releases. You’ll taste three LARK whiskies, including a museum release.
What whiskies will I taste?
You’ll enjoy three single malt whiskies, curated to reflect the evolution of LARK — including one rare museum release that showcases the depth of our archives.
Where does the tasting take place?
The experience is held at LARK Cellar Door at 14 Davey Street Hobart
How long does the tasting run?
The guided tasting takes approximately 45 minutes, designed to be relaxed, immersive, and full of storytelling. When is the tasting offered? Daily at 1pm
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $149 per person.
Is this tasting suitable for beginners?
Yes — absolutely. The Welcome to LARK experience is designed for anyone curious about whisky, from total beginners to seasoned enthusiasts. Feedback across Cellar Door tastings highlights how welcoming, approachable, and knowledgeable the team is, making whisky feel accessible and enjoyable no matter your level
Do I need to know anything about whisky beforehand?
No prior knowledge is needed. Your host will guide you through flavour, aroma, and the fundamentals of whisky tasting while connecting each whisky to the broader LARK story.
Do I get a discount on whisky purchases?
Yes — attendees receive a 10% discount on whisky purchases at LARK Cellar Door, excluding Rare Cask and selected Limited Releases.
Is this tasting different from the Welcome to Whisky experience?
Yes. While both cover whisky fundamentals, the Welcome to LARK tasting is focused specifically on LARK’s heritage, story, and signature single malts, including a museum bottling. The broader Welcome to Whisky tasting focuses on whisky making fundamentals and grain to glass education.
Are children allowed?
All guests must be 18 years or older, as whisky tastings are included in the experience.
Is the cellar door accessible for visitors with mobility needs?
The site is accessible; however it is a heritage building that spans two floors so please let us know in advance if you have accessibility needs so we can ensure the most appropriate part of the venue is utilised for your experience
Can I cancel or change my booking?
You may cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your scheduled experience. Changes made within 24 hours cannot be accommodated
