Tasmania’s Lark Distilling Co. has released Oloroso Cask Release just in time for Valentine’s Day. 

A mouth-watering medley of buttery baked goods and sweet puffs of peat, Oloroso Cask Release is a syrupy single malt with a wonderful light viscosity and the perfect gift for your loved one this February.

Head Distiller Chris Thomson snapped up two Australian Oloroso-style casks from Seppeltsfield,

hand-selected to finish a combination of ex-Sherry and ex-peated Port single malts from our Coal Valley Distillery. The result is an intoxicating combination of toasted pastries and subtle peat smoke with a classic Oloroso finish, melting into warm butter and slowly browning bread... the unmistakable aromas that waft outside your local bakehouse in the early moments of the morning.

Our Master Distillers Oloroso Cask is a treacly single malt with an extravagant Oloroso-style sherry finish. A decadent combination of hazelnuts and sweet egg tarts on the nose gives way to dried orange peel, vanilla, and sticky toffee on the palate. The adventure finishes with long wisps of smoky dried citrus, before melting into a warm, spiced apple pie. An Oloroso Odyssey in a glass.
