On a fine day exploring the Seppeltsfield archives our Head Distiller discovered 16 special tawny port casks from 1992, which then carefully made their way to Tasmania. Rich, deep & incredibly complex, born from the character & history of the 30 year casks this single malt whisky was finished in.

It was on a fine day exploring the Seppeltsfield archives our Head Distiller discovered 16 special tawny port casks from 1992, which then carefully made their way to Tasmania, to finish our famous Tasmanian peated Single Malt. Established in the Barossa in 1851, Seppeltsfield is a treasure trove of fortified wines with an exceptionally rich history. Synonymous with luxury for more than a century, it’s an honour to commemorate Lark’s 30th anniversary with this collaboration.

Rich, deep and incredibly complex, born from the character and history of the 30 year casks this single malt whisky was finished in.

This anniversary set includes a 100ml bottle of Seppeltsfield Vintage 1992 Tawny Para Liqueur (22% ABV).

LARK Distilling Co. unveils a once-in-a-lifetime Single Malt Whisky experience, introducing LARK Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky finished in 1911 Para Vintage Tawny Cask, part of The Rare and Remarkable Collection.

A testament to LARK’s decades-long partnership with the Barossa’s Seppeltsfield Winery, a rare piece of Australian Whisky history with only 135 bottles available globally. Crafted in exclusive collaboration with the prestigious Seppeltsfield Winery in the Barossa, LARK Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky finished in 1911 Para Vintage Tawny Cask is an integral part of LARK’s esteemed Rare and Remarkable Collection.

This exceptional Single Malt Whisky is finished in a single barrel that recently held Centennial Collection Tawny, preserving a precious parcel from the 1911 vintage. The result is a rich and complex whisky that dances on the senses. From toffee and aged oak combined with fresh floral pear and a touch of chocolate orange on the nose, to rich fruit cake and caramel, with hints of blackcurrant and developing lychee on the palate.

This rich and layered whisky, from Australia’s No.1 luxury Single Malt brand, is crafted from a considered blend of a Coal River Valley Distillery 13-year-old ex-Bourbon with cask, and a classic LARK-style Sherry matured whisky, together finished in the iconic cask that once held Seppeltsfield Para Vintage Tawny, from the Barossa from the 1911 vintage.

Our partnership with Seppeltsfield Winery granted us access to some of the world's rarest fortified wines, and we unearthed these Tawny casks from Seppeltsfield’s treasure trove of Centennial Cellar fortified in the Barossa.”

STRUCTURE: Rich, very viscous, weighted fortified on the palate and finish.
MATURATION: Coal River Valley Distillery 13-year-old ex-Bourbon with cask, and a classic LARK-style Sherry matured whisky.
FINISHING CASKS: Finished in a Seppeltsfield Centennial Collection Cask that once held parcels of 1911 Para Vintage Tawny.
