Symphony Nº1 envelopes our creativity, innovation and exploration in expanding our whisky offering. It’s our first blended malt which was recently crowned the Best Australian Blended Malt at the 2022 World Whisky Awards.
Our Head Distiller, Chris Thomson, expertly wove the complexity of American oak bourbon with the balance of sherry and a heavier depth of port. Forming a creamy, oily melody of flavours; a malt whisky that’s full of life from start to finish and carries the un-compromised signature we’re known for.
Likewise, to the ever-expanding world of whiskies, the way in which we enjoy them is also adapting. But there are some classics that simply don’t need an introduction, nor the need to update. And Symphony Nº1 is the perfect blended malt to highlight each of these classics. Symphony Nº1 is one of the most versatile whiskies in our cabinet. CLASSIC WHISKY MANHATTAN
One of the finest and oldest whisky cocktails available
60ml - Symphony Nº1
30ml – Sweet Vermouth
3-4 Dashes of Bitters
Simply combine all ingredients over ice and chill, stirring well. Strain and enjoy! Add a cherry to top it off !
OLD-FASHIONED
The easiest way to elevate a cocktail with Symphony Nº1
60ml - Symphony Nº1
1 Sugar cube
3-4 dashes of bitters
Orange Peel for Garnish
Simply coat the sugar cube with bitters and muddle it into a paste. Pour over Symphony Nº1 and add ice to chill. Add a fresh orange peel and enjoy! !
WHISKY SOUR
A clear staff favourite, the whisky sour is a classic cocktail that always delivers!
60ml - Symphony Nº1
25ml - Fresh Lemon Juice
25ml – Sugar Syrup
1 – Egg White (optional)
Lemon Peel or Cherry for Garnish
Sugar Syrup – If you don’t have sugar syrup you can simply make your own using sugar and boiling water. Simply mix 1 cup of water with 1-2 cups of sugar. Once it’s dissolved, allow to cool and bottle it up, ready to mix with your next cocktail.
A classic Whisky Sour often includes egg white as shown in our version. To do this simply add one egg white with the Symphony Nº1, fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup in a shaker and shake for around 30 seconds until it foams and is well mixed. Then simply pour over ice and enjoy! Adding an egg white tends to tame the tartness and makes the drink a little smoother.
To make the Whisky Sour without egg white simply add the Symphony Nº1, fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well and pour into a glass over fresh ice. Add your chosen garnish and enjoy!
JOHN COLLINS
This is essentially a Whisky Sour topped with soda! Simply make the whisky sour above (without egg) and your chosen soda for a refreshing summer drink.
