The Rare Cask Series is a celebration of Tasmanian whisky both rich in character and heavy with history. It’s an endless pursuit of the abandoned exceptional — combing countries for casks both rare and remarkable. It’s an exploration of evolution — of new life blossoming within the old, in extraordinary, unmatchable ways. A pursuit for the extraordinary realised through unearthing some of the world’s most rare and storied casks. The resulting expressions are unique single malt celebrations of character, culture and the particular casks in which they are finished.

The Rare Cask Series Para 100 release is our single malt finished in casks that once held 100-year-old Seppeltsfield Para Vintage Tawny.

Your 700mL bottle is accompanied by a copper medallion meticulously handcrafted from a decommissioned Lark copper pot still, and a complimentary 100mL bottle enabling the collector to enjoy and savour now.

Tasting Notes


Subtle peat gently wafts from the glass as dark red fruits, orange gateau and treacle meld together.


Grilled pineapple is first to appear on the palate, followed closely by burnt buttered toast, raspberry jam and a hint of sweet spice.


The linger of ashy peat with oily citrus, sultanas and refined oak magnifies the moment and lengthens the finish.

Character captured through 100 years of history

Century old Seppeltsfield Tawny seasoned casks, the crowning glory to Lark’s iconic single malt whisky.

As Lark reaches it’s 30th year in innovative whisky-making, Lark and Seppeltsfield’s partnership has flourished through shared philosophies and ideals.

To honour this 30-year milestone, Seppeltsfield have collaborated with Lark to create Para 100 II. Bestowing to Lark 100-year-old Para tawny casks, from thier treasury of some of the oldest and rarest wine casks in Australia, to finish their iconic single malt whisky.

The sequel to Lark’s unprecedented Para 100 Rare Cask, edition II carries more peat influence than its predecessor, bringing balance to the sweet, and oak driven fortified finish.
